CE MARKING FOR PARTS & COMPONENTS

As per EU Directive 2013/53, CE marking is mandatory for the following parts and components:

Engines – fire safety protection is essential for petrol stern-drive and inboard motors and fuel tank housings;
Neutral safety switch – a device to prevent outboard motors starting in gear;
Steering wheel, mechanism and cables;
Fixed fuel tanks and pipes for engines;
Prefabricated hatches and portlights.

You can ensure that your components conform to minimum CE standards either via application of the relevant ISO norms, or by demonstrating their compliance via direct calculation or equivalent performance testing, and ENAVE is here to help.

For the most commonly used component assessment forms, ENAVE, as a Notified Body, will oversee:

Forms B+C: Comprehensive design testing by type on the plans and one or more representative product samples to ensure their conformity to each legal requisite;
Form G: Testing of each component to ensure their conformity to all legal requisites.
