Laboratory and Technical Tests
ENAVE, using certified and accredited laboratories, performs a wide range of technical and laboratory tests. Our services support both manufacturers in the certification process and shipowners in assessing the health of their vessels through non-destructive analysis and load testing.
Testing on Components and Materials
We carry out rigorous technical tests to verify the resistance and conformity of nautical materials and accessories:
- Crash Testing and Leak Testing: Impact testing on steering wheels and steering wheels, leak testing and pressure testing on tanks and hydraulic components.
- Material Investigations: Osmosis, delamination, and thickness testing.
- Metals: Mechanical characterization and thickness verification for light alloys and steels.
- Wood: Measuring humidity and checking for rot.
- Painting: Adhesion and quality tests on gelcoats and paints.
- Emissions: Tests for gaseous and acoustic emissions from marine engines.
Onboard Fluid Analysis
Chemical-physical analysis of oils and coolants is the most effective tool for identifying “weak signs” of wear before they turn into serious failures.
Why analyze fluids?
- Failure Prevention: Detection of unburned diesel, gasoline, or water in the oil that compromises viscosity and causes premature wear.
- Corrosion Control: Monitoring the degradation of coolants to prevent galvanic corrosion inside the engine, often caused by discontinuous use.
- Used Appraisal: An oil analysis is essential for anyone looking to buy a boat, providing a real “electrocardiogram” of the engine’s condition.
What we monitor:
- Lubricating oils and greases for main engines and generators.
- Fluids for winches and hydraulic power units.
- Coolants and fuels.
- Our technical staff doesn’t just provide data, they interpret the results to suggest the most appropriate procedures. Whether it’s periodic monitoring or CE marking testing, ENAVE guarantees integrity and scientific precision.
